Farewell to a Friend...

On November 19, 2009, we lost one of our closest brothers, Charles "Giggie" Gilliland. He was a mainstay in our lives for many years. Giggie was the service manager at DBW for over 20 years and served as the crew chief for our Pro-stock race team. He left Departure in 1998 to join Compu-fire in California. After several years there, he was offered and accepted the research & development position at Rivera-Primo and enjoyed life. Gig was the most talented machinist/welder/self-taught engineer I have ever met but what set apart was his ability to think logically. He was able to think through a problem and see all the steps to get to the conclusion and then do it.

He was the most liked person I have ever known. He always had time for everyone, remembered everyone's name and always remembered ever joke he'd ever heard. Those of us who were fortunate enough to be able to work, race, ride, drink, laugh, and know Giggie as family have a deep understanding of what we and the motorcycle community has lost. He is and will always be missed.
