Richmond Magazine Features Departure & The Clemens Family

Read the full story, "Life's Purpose" by Gary Robertson by clicking the picture above. It is a nice glimpse of Departure's past, present, and future and those who have worked hard keeping it going from the start and continue to do so today!

Harold North At 83 Years Of Age!

The first image is from 1949 with Harold and the second image is Harold with the same bike today. The bike is a 1941 WLDR "Factory Racer" and is 1 of 170 built in 1941. Harold's is only one of seven known to exist today! Mr. North has owned and rode the bike since the early 40's. Lee sends his regards, "It is a pleasure to know you and your motorcycle Mr. North."

After many years of quality service, Steven moves on from Departure...
His new career as a movie star begins with his debut in "Killing Kennedy". Well... maybe he isn't going to Hollywood but he is going to be in the movie as a copper. Departure was tapped to put together a pair of historically correct Dallas police bikes and Steven put together his awesome 1964 Panhead as a police bike and converted Glenn Moss's 1960 resto project to round out the pair. We will miss ya Steven...

Our Latest Build For Steve Kelly Of Virginia Beach.

The base of this build was a 1995 Softail frame modified by Andrew to a single downtube with some stretch. Drew also made a one-off tank, pipes, and handle bars. The 96" engine was another DBW special with the polished cases and heads and tranny case for good measure. With the added Legends air suspension it sits nice and low when showing or up high when riding. Paint by Freeman and gold leaf Michael Owens.

The Bonnie Belle is here!

This is the sidevalve we ran on the salt (Bonneville) in 2012. Departure Bike Works did the engine and Keith Ball of BikerNet did the chassis. The bike was run under the 5- Ball Racing Team banner. We have it at the shop right now for some minor tweaks and testing on the engine and hope to have it back on the flats in 2014. We are looking for sponsors for our next attempt! Look for more on this project as we get back to work on the "Belle"...

Andrew Williams Invited to the 2012 Brooklyn Invitational

Andrew has been silently working away on his Flatside project... fabing up some killer pieces, drilling holes in them... them making some more. It looks like the "Von Pee-Master" will be making it's debut in NYC at "The Brooklyn Invitational" this summer. Stay tuned!
